The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (No. 17 of 2014 ) (the "Ordinance") has been passed into law. The commencement date is yet to be gazetted.
The Ordinance is largely the same as the Bill that was introduced to the Legislative Council, and encompasses all the changes that were proposed in the Bill stage.
To prepare for the commencement of the Ordinance, employers should see our earlier legal updates:
- " What Do Employers Need to Know about the Hong Kong Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Bill?" and
- " The Impact of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Bill on Employers and Employees"
We will let you know when the Ordinance is gazetted to commence.
