On August 3, the CNIL issued a press release to explain the
conditions under which data controllers may obtain valid consent
from data subjects when relying on consent as a legal basis for
processing personal data (source document in French). This
announcement does not change the notion of "consent" but
does provide additional guarantees, notably in the context of
consent by minors.
