An amendment to the Law on Securities became effective on 26 July. The amendment liberalises trading with foreign securities (see also Slovak Tax News for July).

According to the amendment, approval from the Slovak Ministry of Finance is not required for trading in foreign securities where they are already traded in the main market in the country of the issuer.

At the same time, based on the amendment, it will also be possible for Slovak bonds to be issued abroad in a materialised form.
