The federal government is funding an Innovation Supercluster Initiative which will invest up to $950 million across Canada. The initiative's goal is to support innovation projects with the greatest potential to energize the economy and become engines of growth in the region.
Atlantic Canada's application brought corporations, start-ups, academic institutions, research facilities and government together to form an Ocean Supercluster Partnership. We competed against the best Canada has to offer. And we won.
Thanks to our Atlantic Canada's Ocean Supercluster Partnership, the federal government and the private sector will invest hundreds of millions of dollars in new ocean-related initiatives.
