Ontario Energy Minister Chris Bentley told a crowd of electricity interest stakeholders that he would be making an announcement regarding the results of the FIT review process next week.

Minister Bentley was the keynote speaker at an event hosted by the Toronto Board of Trade. In his address, he emphasized that the Ontario government is committed to long-term planning and cost-effective investment in Ontario's energy infrastructure. He cited the transition away from coal-fired generation, the planned refurbishment of the reactors at Darlington, and the Green Energy Act and FIT program as examples of the government's approach.

Minister Bentley opened his remarks by noting that he had been asked if he would be making any "ground breaking" announcements. When he later indicated that he would be talking about the FIT review next week, he quipped "there's your news."
