Travel Restrictions

Effective April 19, 2021 (12:01 a.m. Central Time in the Central Time Zone and 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time in the Eastern Time Zone of Ontario), travel into Ontario from Manitoba and Quebec is restricted by Ontario Regulation 293/21. Specifically, no person shall travel into Ontario from Manitoba or Quebec except in certain specified cases, such as travelling to perform work in Ontario or transporting goods into or through Ontario as part of the operation of a business that involves the transportation of goods. Additional Public Health Measures

The Ontario Government has announced its intention to implement the following public health measures effective April 17, 2021 at 12:01 a.m.:

  • Prohibit all outdoor social gatherings and organized public events, except for with members of the same household or with one other person from outside that household who lives alone or with a caregiver for any member of the household;
  • Close all non-essential workplaces in the construction sector;
  • Reduce capacity limits to 25% in all retail settings where in-store shopping is permitted, including supermarkets, grocery stores, convenience stores, indoor farmers' markets and other stores that primarily sell food and pharmacies; and
  • Close all outdoor recreational amenities, such as golf courses, basketball courts, and soccer fields.

In addition, effective April 19, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., the capacity of weddings, funerals, and religious services, rites or ceremonies is limited to 10 people indoors or outdoors. Social gatherings associated with these services, such as receptions, are prohibited, except for with members of the same household or one other person from outside that household who lives alone.
