Taft Cleveland associate Allison Smith Newsome moderated a "Women in Cannabis" panel at the Ohio Cannabis Health & Business Summit on Oct. 2. The panel discussed female executive representation in the cannabis industry and the importance of increasing the percentage of women involved in all levels of the industry.

The summit, which was held Oct. 1-2, included workshops, keynote speakers, and panel discussions highlighting patient access and business opportunities in the emerging cannabis industry.

Newsome focuses her practice on the representation of hospitals, physician groups, and other health care organizations regarding the regulatory, transactional, and business aspects of health care law. Among other areas, she advises these clients on regulatory matters, including HIPAA, Stark, and Anti-Kickback issues.
