Registered and non-registered charitable organizations, community associations, and individuals are encouraged to apply

September 6, 2022 - Field Law is now accepting applications to receive this year's funding through the Field Law Community Fund Program. Community associations, charitable organizations and individuals in Northern Alberta, Southern Alberta and Northwest Territories are encouraged to apply until October 3, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. MST.

Ideas that meet application requirements could be granted up to $30,000 to support their community programs. While Field Law puts an emphasis on causes that support education, healthcare, at-risk youth, homelessness, women's organizations, diversity, equality, community and sports, or arts and culture, they encourage any organization that is making their community a better place to apply.

The individuals and organizations that hold our communities together, particularly over the last three years, have gone above and beyond," says Field Law Managing Partner, Jeremiah Kowalchuk. "The Field Law Community Fund is a valued part of our firm, it allows us to support and celebrate incredible change-makers in our communities."

"The Doorway Approach engages both young people living on the streets and mainstream community members in a self-determined planning process and cross-cultural exchange to make these lasting changes," says Program Manager, Kaitilin O'Grady. "Thanks to Field Law's gift in 2020, The Doorway was able to give 43 young people more than 435 visits and 522 individual goal setting sessions."

Giving back to the communities where Field Law operates is a core value of the firm. Through the Community Fund, Field Law has donated a total of $685,000 to more than100 organizations and individuals for their "pay-it-forward" ideas.

Of the $75,000 in funding available this year, a total of $30,000 will be available for successful Northern Alberta applicants, $30,000 for successful Southern Alberta applicants and $15,000 for successful Northwest Territories applicants.

Starting October 6, 2022, Field Law will open a voting portal for the public to vote for their favourite ideas. Funding recipients will be chosen by a combination of online votes received and deliberation by a Community Market Judging Panel.
