In Part Two of our 2022 Women in Leadership Series, Professor
Herminia Ibarra will explore authenticity in leadership and why it
can be a double-edged sword. We all want to be authentic, but a
too-narrow understanding of the principle can obstruct personal
growth. We tend to latch on to authenticity as an excuse to stay in
our comfort zones, especially to avoid feeling like an imposter. In
this session, Herminia will discuss how challenging our sense of
self can actually help expand our capacity as leaders. She will
also share strategies that can help us develop an "adaptively
authentic" style that feels right to us and suits our
organizations' changing needs.
