Kristyn is a renowned environmental, social, and corporate
governance (ESG) attorney with more than 25 years of experience
advising organizations on ESG-related matters, including government
regulation compliance, climate and environmental impact, corporate
governance, stakeholder responsiveness, policy drafting, and
implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.
Kristyn counsels clients on climate disclosures as well as board
diversity and related frameworks, particularly ESG-related rules
anticipated to come out of the US Securities and Exchange
Commission. She also regularly coaches boards on ESG policies and
helps companies with public reporting. In addition, clients seek
her assistance in implementing DEI programs.
Prior to joining Mintz, Kristyn served as counsel in the
Sustainability & ESG Practice of a global law firm. Earlier,
she spent 11 years in a number of senior regulatory, compliance,
and public policy and governance positions in-house for the
American Petroleum Institute (API), Hess Corporation, Nestlé
Waters, and USAA. In those positions, she was responsible for ESG,
DEI, sustainability, public policy, corporate social
responsibility, and corporate charitable foundations. She began her
career as a White House Presidential Management Fellow, where she
worked on a number of initiatives under the Clinton administration,
including the Kyoto Protocol.
Kristyn earned a JD at Georgetown University Law Center. She also
holds an MA and a BA from the University of Virginia.
