We are thrilled to share this month lays witness to some significant milestones for Travis Schultz & Partners.

Partners announced

Firstly, we will promote three lawyers within the firm to partners, doubling our number of partners as we continue to grow. The new partners include Senior Associate, Hugh Powell who will become a Partner and Leader of the Sunshine Coast office; Special Counsel and Leader of the Cairns office, Beth Rolton; and Special Counsel and Leader of the Brisbane office, Trent Johnson. These three will be named partners effective from the start of the 2022/23 financial year. Congratulations, Beth, Trent & Hugh!

Together, they join me as Managing Partner, along with Partner, Tim McClymont; and newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and Director, Kelly Phelps.

CEO promotion

Kelly was formerly our Chief Operating Officer, and has been with the firm since its inception in 2018, her promotion to CEO is reflective of our firm's growth and maturity. Congratulations, Kelly!

A vision coming to life

Between the partners and senior lawyers in our team, TSP is proud to have six Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialists in Personal Injury Law, making us one of the most highly skilled and experienced teams in Queensland.

When I set out to establish a new law firm a little over four years ago, my mission wasn't to become another legal juggernaut dictated by timesheets and call centres. I hoped to curate a legal team of like-minded, community-conscious lawyers who shared my vision of a professional services firm focused on expertise and personal service, driven by values. Never could I have anticipated attracting such a highly skilled and talented group of lawyers that has led to our medium-sized firm boasting such an impressive ratio of Accredited Specialists in our ranks.

Senior Associate promotion

In addition to the partnership and CEO milestone, we have also promoted Sunshine Coast-based lawyer, Rachel Last to Senior Associate. Congratulations, Rachel!

Rachel was a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards last year and has quickly established herself as a fierce mental health advocate for young lawyers entering the industry.

Expanded Brisbane office

To accommodate for the growth in our firm, we have acquired more floor space in our Brisbane office, now taking the entire building at 484 Adelaide Street, effectively doubling our capacity.

We are humbled to be managing growth rather than struggling to maintain it and incredibly grateful for the support we've received from the professional community across Queensland. We are excited to take over our expanded Brisbane space at our Adelaide Street location.

Keep an eye out for more news in the coming months as our Brisbane team expands!
