Today we acknowledge the celebration of Holi, a Hindu holiday that marks the beginning of Spring and the triumph of good over evil. Holi may also be known as Fagwah, the Festival of Colors, Vasanta Utsav, Dulhendi, Sigmo in Goa, Shimga in Maharashtra, or Doljatra. The rituals associated with the celebration include vibrant colors called 'gulal' or 'abir' used in play, bonfires, dancing and songs, along with large feasts.
