Calgary (March 1, 2022) - Crowe MacKay is proud to announce its merger with Calgary firm, NCCA LLP.

This merger brings together two successful teams of trusted advisors committed to providing clients with audit, tax, and advisory excellence. NCCA LLP joins the Crowe Calgary office under the leadership of current Managing Director, Sam Kaketsis, and Partners Todd Freer, Christine Heemskerk, Quyen Do, and Garry Cook.

"The merger with NCCA directly translates to success for our clients. Growing our team of trusted advisors means we can be more efficient and effective for our clients while adding more expertise to our team," says Sam.

With over 60 years of industry experience, NCCA LLP is a team of trusted professionals serving private companies, partnerships, and owner-managed businesses in a variety of industries. Most recently, the firm has been focused on growing its practice and expanding into new industries.

"This merger directly supports NCCA's strategic vision in growing our business. By coming together with the Crowe MacKay team we can now give our clients an elevated suite of services, benefiting from Crowe's in-house experts across a variety of services and industries like information technology consulting, SR&ED tax incentives, and succession planning," says John Wakulich, NCCA LLP Partner.

Crowe MacKay's CEO, Stefan Ferris, is very familiar with the changing landscape of the accounting industry. Serving as a Board Member on Crowe Global's Board of Directors, he hears first-hand what other countries are experiencing in their operations and emerging trends, and it seems everyone is faced with very similar challenges:

"When looking at the accounting industry today, and the workforce in general, businesses are being faced with the same challenges: remaining current and innovative; ever-changing technology; attracting and retaining talent; and providing exceptional training to professionals – when firms can come together and leverage each other's strengths you are naturally going to see success for both parties."

With client service always being the priority, both Crowe MacKay and NCCA remain committed to making smart decisions that create lasting value. "At the end of the day, both Crowe MacKay and NCCA have built their success on investing in and creating strong client relationships. When your values align you can make historic business decisions, like this, with confidence," says Rob Carlson, NCCA LLP Partner.

Committed to innovation and growth, this merger promises to bring opportunities for both teams of professionals, clients, and the communities they serve. "NCCA brings excellent talent to our growing Crowe MacKay team," says Sam. "We look forward to enhancing our service to businesses across Calgary and the southern Alberta region."

For the interim, the NCCA location will remain open and be known as Crowe MacKay's Calgary South location. We look forward to moving the team to our downtown office later in 2022.
