Walkers' Global Insolvency & Dispute Resolution Group has been listed in the top 10 of global law firms for restructuring and insolvency for the first time by the latest Global Restructuring Review ("GRR") 30 list 2021, moving up nine places in the chart from last year.

"Walkers is delighted to be included in the top 10 of the GRR 30. As an offshore firm, our place amongst the world's largest multinational onshore firms demonstrates our commitment to excellence and is testament to the dedication that our teams in every office and jurisdiction show to our clients," commented Cayman Islands Insolvency & Dispute Resolution partner, Matthew Goucke.

Walkers continues to be the highest ranked offshore law firm on the list, at 10,  scoring 549 points this year, ranking just behind DLA Piper (551) and White & Case (552). Walkers is also proud to have 17 partners ranked in Who's Who Legal for Restructuring and Insolvency – the highest among any firm in the ranking table.

Commenting on the 2021 results, GRR notes: "The title of highest-ranking [offshore] firm always seemed to go to the incumbents of positions 12 or 13 on the GRR 30 list – until this year where Who's Who Legal's surprise listing of no less than 17 – yes, 17 – Walkers partners let that firm surpass many international peers to nestle in position 10. That's the highest position any [offshore] firm has held to date."

The GRR 30 is a distillation of the GRR 100 2021 and is the reflection of 12 months' work, beginning in January 2020 when GRR sent out detailed questionnaires to hundreds of law firms seeking input on the history of their restructuring and insolvency practices, notable past cases, key names to know and any other characteristics worth highlighting.
