Cooper Grace Ward partner Linda Tapiolas has been announced as a winner in the Tax Adviser of the Year awards in the 'Tax Adviser RESPECT' category.

Announced this week by the Tax Institute of Australia, the Tax Adviser of the Year Awards celebrate practitioners who have demonstrated professional excellence and gone above and beyond over the past 12 months.

The 'Tax Adviser RESPECT' category was introduced this year to recognise those who went above and beyond during unprecedented challenges posed by the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Linda Tapiolas is a partner in Cooper Grace Ward's commercial team and specialises in providing tailored advice and support services to accountants, financial planners and other professional advisers.

She is well known in Queensland and across Australia for her technical advice on complex tax, capital gains tax (CGT) and Division 7A issues, and acting on business sales and acquisitions to ensure clients achieve commercial and tax effective outcomes.

She has a deep understanding of capital gains, business acquisitions, and restructuring, providing her with a unique insight into her clients' business environment.

Commenting on the award, Linda said: "From my perspective, this award from the Tax Institute is an absolute privilege to receive. It is great recognition for the efforts of the CGW team I have around me and the clients I have the privilege of working with day-to-day."

"The past 18 months have presented a unique combination of opportunities and challenges for clients and I am very pleased to have been able to contribute to their success throughout this time."
