Walkers has been named a finalist in the Legal Services category of the European Captive Review Awards marking excellence in legal services to the captive insurance market across Europe.

The Walkers Insurance team – spanning the key insurance jurisdictions of Bermuda, Cayman, Guernsey and Ireland – is named alongside HFW and Ganado Advocates as a finalist in the awards, which take place in Luxembourg on 8 November.

The awards "recognise contributions to the captive market through legal expertise and innovation, strategic vision and business winning client care" and are judged by a panel of independent experts.

Walkers Partner Kate Storey – from the firm's top tier Guernsey Insurance practice – said that the team was delighted to be recognised.

"Our offering as legal advisers to the insurance sector is unique in that we cover Bermuda, Cayman, Guernsey and Ireland – four key jurisdictions for insurance globally," she said.

"We continue to invest in and develop our insurance offering, and in the last 12 months we have seen instructions from an increasingly diverse set of clients touching on every part of our global organisation in Asia, Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East, as well as US clients."

Last month Kate was named a Leading Individual for Insurance work in Guernsey by Legal 500, which named the team in the top tier and recorded client feedback referring to Kate as "a stand-out player in the market, super knowledgeable and responsive and always prepared to give time to nascent projects and opportunities".
