Louisa Knox, Partner in Shepherd and Wedderburn's pensions team, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Board Director of Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE), the industry body for financial and professional services in Scotland.

Louisa, who is leading Shepherd and Wedderburn's commitment to be net zero on greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, specialises in pensions law and works with a range of clients on all pensions-related matters, including ongoing advisory, scheme restructuring, environmental, social and governance (ESG), and risk management.

Her role will include acting as the SFE board's sponsor for its journey to net zero, reflecting the Scottish financial and professional services sector's ambition to facilitate a just transition away from fossil fuels and establish Scotland as a globally recognised green finance centre.

Louisa said: "The financial services sector must play a lead role in tackling the climate emergency and there has been a real momentum from the industry in recent months to do this, which is reflected in SFE's new strategy. I'm excited to be playing a key role in the implementation of this vital strategic priority."

Louisa's appointment comes alongside that of Mike Tumilty, Chief Operating Officer at abrdn, who has also joined SFE as a Non-Executive Board Director.

Philip Grant, SFE Chairman, said: "Mike and Louisa have depth and breadth of experience in Scotland's financial and professional services sector and we're delighted to have them on the board.

"Our new strategy reflects a refreshed set of priorities as we adapt to the post-pandemic landscape and these new appointments provide us the knowledge and capability that we need to act on these priorities to the benefit of the sector and of society."
