Gregg M. Benson

as a Member in the firm's Tax Practice.

Gregg, who is based in our New York office, is a seasoned tax attorney with a multifaceted practice. He advises US and international clients, including companies and individuals, on a wide range of tax issues related to transactions, estate tax planning, and renewable energy projects.

Gregg has significant experience with tax issues involving US and cross-border taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, cross­border tax structuring, partnerships, and limited liability companies. He regularly represents US and international sponsors of, and investors in, private equity and other investment funds, as well as investors and developers in renewable energy projects. In addition to his transactional work, Gregg counsels US and international high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and closely held businesses on a variety of US and cross-border income and estate tax planning issues.

Prior to joining Mintz, Gregg practiced at several international law firms, most recently as a partner in the Tax Practice of a law firm based in Canada and the United States, and worked at major accounting firms. He maintains an active pro bono practice that has included representing nonprofit organizations focused on poverty reduction and arts education.

Gregg earned an LLM from New York University School of Law, a JD from Fordham University, and a BS from Cornell University.
