Global IP services business Rouse has appointed Thomas Randes as the new Global Head of Rouse Consultancy. The Consultancy offering is a key driver of growth for the wider business to support its ambitions to provide IP services globally and across the value chain. Thomas's appointment bolsters Rouse's position as a preeminent provider of commercial IP strategy services.

Thomas Randes, who is based in the business's Stockholm office, joined Rouse in July 2019 when it acquired IPQ, the firm he founded in 2004. Thomas was previously the Sweden Country Manager before handing over the role to Erik Oskarsson earlier this year and he also led the Management Consultancy service. Thomas is now consolidating the leadership of the two consultancy services – Management and IP – under him.

Thomas will be supported by regional consultancy heads Tim Smith who is taking on the role in the UK and Linda Chang in China as well as teams in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. The previous Global and UK Head of Consultancy, Jeremy Newman, is taking on a new role as Rouse's Chief Commercial Officer but will remain as a Principal in the Consultancy team.

Jeremy says: "I am delighted to welcome Thomas to his new role. He has years of consultancy experience from his work with IPQ and will use it to take Rouse Consultancy to greater heights. We have been working together over the last couple of months to hand the role over and I know I leave the team, clients and service in good hands."

Thomas says: "To enable organisations to create profitable IP has been my primary focus for more than 10 years. I am therefore looking forward to working with the global consultancy team to identify ways to take our services to more of Rouse's clients and beyond."
