Now that the federal election is over, what does the future hold for foreign investment review in Canada?

Join leaders from Blakes for an informative discussion and rapid-fire Q&A on implications for foreign investment in Canada for both Canadian companies and foreign investors.

The session will be moderated by Blakes Partner Dr. Julie Soloway, who has special expertise in the Investment Canada Act and has advised on numerous recent high-profile transactions in the natural resources, infrastructure and technology sectors.

Julie will be joined by new Senior Counsel, Elder Marques, a former government advisor with deep private- and public-sector experience, including as a Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chief of Staff for the Ministers of Industry and Finance; and Fraser Malcolm, an Associate in the Blakes Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment group, who advises on foreign investment merger review under the Investment Canada Act and who previously worked on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, including for the Ministers of Public Safety and International Trade.
