We are delighted to announce the arrival of partner Ann Wicks in San Francisco, where she will help build our California employment practice.
Ann most recently led her own practice, where she worked for 15 years, following a successful career in BigLaw. She has also worked closely with Doug Mandell, head of Withers' Founders practice, both at his previous firm and while teaming up with Doug on matters since he joined Withers in 2020.
Doug comments: "We are thrilled to have Ann join us to build an employment practice in San Francisco. I have worked with Ann for over two decades and it is a pleasure to have her as my partner. Ann's experience makes her an ideal fit to further enhance Withers' unique focus on private clients, as well as the companies they launch."
Ann is a highly sought-after advisor across San Francisco's business and tech communities, advising executives, companies and families. Her employment practice includes advising executives and companies on employment law issues, conducting internal investigations in the areas of employee misconduct, discrimination and sexual harassment, counselling on wage and hour issues, and handling employment litigation.
Ann comments: "Closing down my own practice to move to an international firm is not a decision I've taken lightly. However, I quickly became convinced this move is best for me and my clients, who will benefit from the firm's broad range of services. With the firm's global offices in mind, I also look forward to helping US organizations in their expansion to Asia and Europe and assisting international companies opening operations in California."
Earlier in her career, Ann held roles as partner at Littler Mendelson and Of Counsel at Cooley. She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
