Cetinkaya partner Orçun Çetinkaya made one of the key speeches at the online launch for the Society of Construction Turkey (SCL Turkey) held on 25 May 2021.  Orcun who is ranked in The Legal 500 for Real Estate & Construction gave an overview of Turkey's legal framework in relation to international construction.

The launch gave SCL Turkey the opportunity to announce its objectives, which set out to promote public benefit, education, study and research in the field of construction law, and other related subjects, such as Alternative Dispute Resolution, including arbitration and adjudication. The Society, which was registered as an association in accordance with Turkish law in 2020 and is endorsed and accredited by the Society of Construction Law International, was founded to contribute to the understanding and practice of construction law by bringing together the experienced and interested people. 

Webinar hosts were the society's founding members President Yasemin Çetinel, Vice President İdil Bozoğlu, Vice President Ekrem Kaya, Treasurer Başar Şahin, General secretary Sercan Kulaksızoğulları, and board members Tuba Karakuş and Orçun Çetinkaya. While guest speakers for the inaugural event included Emre Aykar (President at the High Advisory Council for Turkish Contractors Association), Aisha Nadar (FIDIC Board Member 2016-2020), Paul Battrick (SCL International Liaison from SCL UK), and Richard Bailey (ESCL Council Member).

The next webinar is scheduled for September this year with a focus on ADR.
