The Securities and Exchange Commission announced it will hold its 40th Annual Government-Business Forum on Small Business Capital Formation virtually from May 24 – 27, 2021. The Forum, hosted by the SEC's Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation, will take place over four days and will feature a number of topics. Below are the four sessions:

(1) Finding Your First Dollars: Navigating Your Way to Raise Early Rounds;

(2) Doing Your Diligence: How Savvy Early-Stage Investors Build Diversified Portfolios;

(3) Diversifying Capital Allocators: Tools for Emerging and Smaller Funds and Their Managers; and

(4) Small Cap Insights: Perspectives on Smaller Public Companies.

In order to foster a more inclusive and structured discussion, the Forum will accept feedback and policy recommendations in advance of the Forum. SEC Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation Martha Legg Miller noted, "As we examine capital formation policy and solicit feedback from Forum participants, we must ask the critical questions: how is this serving the needs of entrepreneurs and their investors, who is being left behind, and what needs to change?"

To submit feedback/policy recommendations, or to register, visit the Forum's webpage.
