Jones Day partner Yvette McGee Brown will be the keynote speaker at the 2021 Commencement of The University of Akron School of Law on May 16, 2021, which will take place at InfoCision Stadium on the University of Akron's campus.
Ms. McGee Brown was the first African American woman to serve as a justice on the Ohio Supreme Court. She was also the first African American woman elected to the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. A partner in Jones Day's Business & Tort Litigation Practice based in the Firm's Columbus Office, Ms. McGee Brown defends clients in public corruption, discrimination matters, regulatory enforcement, and constitutional challenges. She also represents public companies and universities in Title VII and Title IX investigations and presides in arbitration proceedings.
As Jones Day's Firmwide Partner-in-Charge of Diversity, Inclusion and Advancement, she frequently advises clients on diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
