Jones Day was named an "Outstanding Diverse Organization" at the Houston Business Journal's Diversity in Business Awards. This distinction recognizes organizations that have contributed to harnessing diversity within their workforces and taken the lead to promote and champion diversity within the community or their industries. Jones Day was included in the small companies (10-99 employees) category.

The Houston Office contributes meaningfully to several legal organizations and programs aimed at materially improving diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. The office participates in Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, which welcomes diverse students as paid summer interns the summer before they begin law school. Houston lawyers collaborate with Houston ISD's Pilgrim Academy to present the Pathways to Law program, which introduces students to careers in the legal industry. The office also participates in the Legal Council on Legal Diversity's Fellows, Pathfinders, Law School Mentoring, and 1L Scholars programs.

Additionally, Jones Day's Houston Office supports the retention, development, and progression of its diverse lawyers through Firmwide affinity groups, and supports student engagement at law schools throughout the country, sponsoring events and trainings that offer mentoring, networking, and career development opportunities.

The Diversity in Business Awards program honors organizations and individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to promoting practices that advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as in business leadership. Honorees bolster equality across all areas of diversity, including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, and religion.
