Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to
announce the promotion of four of its lawyers in Hong Kong and
Singapore. Four new Partners have been appointed to the
firm's Asia Corporate and Funds & Investment practices
further strengthening the depth of senior expertise in the
region.
The partner promotions are Craig Luton and Iain Anderson of the
Funds & Investment Management practice and based in the
Group's Singapore office, and Juno Huang and Karen Zhang
Pallaras of the Corporate and Finance practice and based in the
Group's Hong Kong office.
Speaking about these promotions, Asia Managing Partner, Michael
Gagie said, "I am delighted to welcome Craig, Iain, Juno and
Karen to the partnership and I congratulate them on their
well-deserved promotions. All of our Asia practice groups
continue to be busy and these appointments reflect the breadth and
depth of cross-jurisdictional legal and technical knowledge

In addition to these promotions, the Group recently announced a new
regionally focused leadership structure for its law firms in
Asia1, appointing five of its existing partners to
strategic roles across its Hong Kong and Singapore offices.
Nick Stern also recently joined the Asia Dispute Resolution &
Insolvency team as a partner, elevating the firm's specialist
knowledge in this particularly busy area.

About the New Partners
Iain Anderson
Iain specialises in fund formation, down-stream fund
transactions, including acquisitions, co-investments and joint
ventures and general partner arrangements and fund regulatory
work. His clients include large global and regional private
equity and hedge funds, boutique managers, smaller start-up funds
and investee companies.
Juno Huang
Juno advises on a broad range of corporate and finance
matters involving Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands
companies, including private equity and venture capital
investments, joint ventures, pre-IPO financings, reorganisations
and restructurings, debt capital market transactions, mergers and
acquisitions, banking and financings with a particular focus on
initial public offerings and listing of shares of Cayman Islands
companies in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US and acting in private
equity preferred share financing transactions for the most
promising technology start-ups and unicorns. Juno advises
major listed corporations, household known conglomerates, financial
institutions, SOE and private companies on general corporate and
commercial transactions of all types.
Craig Luton
Craig advises on the structure, formation, launch and
maintenance of hedge funds, private equity funds, and venture
capital funds, as well as downstream private equity
transactions. Craig also has experience working with mutual
funds being offered to Japanese investors.
Karen Zhang Pallaras
Karen advises on a broad range of corporate transactions
involving Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands companies
including mergers and acquisitions, pre-IPO financings, initial and
secondary public offerings, private equity investments, joint
ventures, reorganisations and restructurings. She has
extensive experience advising on significant and market leading
M&A and take private transactions involving Hong Kong and
US-listed companies. Karen also advises financial
institutions, sponsors and corporations on debt financing
transactions including leveraged and acquisition finance, debt
capital markets transactions, project finance and general corporate
lending.
