Senior Associate David Mueller-Wiesner has been recognised as a rising star in MIP's IP star rankings for 2020.

David is a driving force in Spruson's startup team and he has extensive experience obtaining patents outside of Australia. He routinely determines the global enforcement and filing strategies of major Australian patent filers, while also appearing at hearings on behalf of his clients at the Australian Patent Office.

His practice includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of robotics, food processing technology, aerospace, consumer products, mining, sport technology, and computer-implemented inventions.

Prior to joining Spruson & Ferguson in 2016, David was co-inventor for a startup in the field of composite materials for high performance roadbikes after working in the technical methods team for a landing gear manufacturer in France and in non-destructive evaluation for an airframe manufacturer in Germany. He has also worked in research roles at Imperial College London in the material characterisation team and the Technische Universität Clausthal-Zellerfeld in Germany verifying computational fluid dynamics models.

David's contribution to Spruson & Ferguson is highly appreciated and we congratulate him for his recognition in MIP IP Stars 2020.
