Bruce Bennett, leader of Jones Day's Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice, was named by Business Insider among its top 10 bankruptcy and restructuring lawyers. In its article "10 lawyers who navigated the biggest bankruptcies in history are set for a huge boom in business as the coronavirus fuels a restructuring surge," Business Insider built its list based on talks with attorneys, consultants, and recruiters, along with a review of some of the largest bankruptcies over the past decade, and identified 10 restructuring and bankruptcy lawyers to keep tabs on as the business landscape shifts dramatically in 2020.

In addition to serving as the global leader of Jones Day's Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice, Mr. Bennett currently represents holders of approximately 40% of the equity interests in PG&E Corp., the owner of Pacific Gas & Electric Co., the largest utility in California and one of the largest in the United States. His previous experience includes co-leading Jones Day's iconic representation of the City of Detroit, the largest municipal bankruptcy in history, and prior to joining Jones Day, serving as lead lawyer for the Los Angeles Dodgers on their $2 billion acquisition by Magic Johnson and other partners, and as lead debtor's counsel in the country's second largest municipal bankruptcy (County of Orange, California). He has been twice named "Dealmaker of the Year" by The American Lawyer (2015, 2017).
