It is with great sorrow that we advise our clients, colleagues and friends of the passing of the Honorable Gerald J. Mossinghoff, who passed away peacefully on March 20, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Mossinghoff was one of the world's premier intellectual property specialists and served as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce, the Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks, and held many other prestigious roles including his most recent as Senior Counsel at Oblon, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt. "We will miss him tremendously. He was a long and loyal friend of our Firm. Our deepest sympathies to his family," said Managing Partner Philippe Signore.

In his role as Senior Counsel to the firm, Mr. Mossinghoff advised the firm and its clients on a broad range of intellectual property matters, including international, legislative and policy issues and has served as a patent law expert in more than 300 cases having been retained by the nation's leading law firms on behalf of many of the nation's leading high-technology companies.

Mr. Mossinghoff will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
