Ogier has appointed contentious trusts expert Damian Evans as partner in its Jersey Dispute Resolution team.

Damian, who joined the firm in January 2019, has been involved in some of the leading trust litigation cases in Jersey as well as being regularly engaged in applications concerning the blessing of momentous trustee decisions, rectification, mistake, ratification and the rule in Hastings-Bass.

Called 'extremely intelligent, brilliant in court, unfailingly practical and results-driven' by Legal 500, Damian has also been involved in the leading Jersey cases concerning Tax Information Exchange Agreements and the application of Sovereign Immunity in the context of enforcement of international arbitration awards.

Ogier's Head of Dispute Resolution in Jersey, Nick Williams, said: "Damian is one of the leading trust litigators in the Island and we are proud to have him in the team.

"Since he joined us, Damian has continued to act on a range of complex and high profile matters, and has consistently delivered advice and advocacy of the highest quality. In addition, his commitment to the ongoing career development of others is particularly valued."
