Franchise and Distribution lawyers maintained a busy fourth quarter presenting at a number of events across the country as thought leaders.

In mid-October, Sandy Wall (Chicago) and Ahbishek Dubé (Northern Virginia) presented at the American Bar Association's 42nd Annual Forum on Franchising in Denver.

Later in the month, Bret Lowell moderated a conversation at the 8th Annual Hotel and Lodging Legal Summit. The topic, "Loyalty Land Mines: Legal Issues Related to Brand Loyalty Programs," discussed franchise use of loyalty programs, including privacy and security issues, financial structures, and approaches to dispute resolution.

In November, Alexander Tuneski took part in a panel discussion at the International Franchise Association's Emerging Franchisor Conference in Nashville, "Unit Level Economics – The Key to Franchisee Satisfaction and Achieving Robust Franchise Sales." The panel discussed best practices for those looking to open and operate a franchise, reviewing financial performance standards and opportunities to grow using unit level economics.
