Stockings for a Cause

Giving back to our community is a core value deeply rooted in theLincoln Derr culture. The charitable organizations we support through our Gift of Giving initiative are near and dear to our hearts, but the giving does not end there.

At our firm meeting in late November, our kind-hearted legal administrative assistant, Christian Whittington, floated the idea of doing a firm-wide giving project for the holidays. Her idea was to spread holiday cheer through the joy of traditional holiday stockings.

"At Christmas, I have always loved to do stockings. Each year I do about 25 of them for my family and friends, it's my thing," shared Christian. "I thought it would be a great idea to have the team stuff stockings with small gifts and necessities for local shelters focused on the care of women and children."

Christian researched local shelters, along with suggestions from the team, and found that Dove's Nest and Thompson Children's Home were in need of just this type of holiday cheer! So we all agreed to pitch in and do it.

But the giving spirit just kept growing. Sara Lincoln reached out to our friends at Gardner Skelton, Tin, Fulton, Walker & Owen, and Lincoln PLLC to join our stocking stuffing project. They all enthusiastically agreed, and in no time, our little idea had picked up big steam.

So, we gathered early on Friday, December 13th, and formed a stocking stuffing assembly line. Our group effort resulted in 120 festive stockings all stuffed and ready to deliver for the holidays.

A big thank you to Christian Whittington, Heather Skelton, Missy Owen, and Erik Lincoln for your support of our first-ever Stockings for a Cause. We can do so much more together!
