Overview
The Canadian and Ontario-based legal landscape has recently experienced significant change with the introduction of new amendments to the Canada Labour Code and the passing of the Ford government's Making Ontario Open for Business Act, 2018. Both federal and provincial employers should ensure that they understand the implications that these changes pose for their business. In the case of federal employers, this means taking steps to prepare for the anticipated requirements – while provincially regulated businesses should confirm that they have adequately responded to the already instituted legislation through a review of their workplace policies.
