Salvatore M. DeBunda, a longtime horse owner, attorney and advocate for the horseracing industry in Pennsylvania, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of Parx Racing at Philadelphia Park in recognition of his efforts to promote the sport and benefit horsemen and other participants.

Mr. DeBunda, Co-Managing Partner of Archer P.C. in Philadelphia, will be inducted along with the other honorees at a ceremony at Parx in Bensalem, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2103, 2013, during Pennsylvania Derby Day, the pinnacle of the Parx racing schedule. The day of racing will feature the $1 million Pennsylvania Derby for 3-year-olds, the $1 million Cotillion Stakes for 3-year-old fillies, and the $300,000 Gallant Bob Stakes for 3-year olds.

A resident of Blue Bell, Pa., Mr. DeBunda is President and General Counsel of the Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (PTHA), which protects and provides for the Philadelphia Park horsemen through the guarantee of live racing, increased purses, and health care for its families. Through the efforts of the PTHA and the track management, thoroughbred racing in the state of Pennsylvania has undergone many positive changes. Philadelphia Park has been recognized throughout the industry as the starting point for stricter medication rules and for its model retirement program for thoroughbred horses.

A racehorse owner for more than 20 years, Mr. DeBunda is also a founder and the Executive Producer of Let's Go Racing, which highlights the stars of the sport — the thoroughbreds — and the personalities that help get them to the winner circle. Mr. DeBunda, one of Pennsylvania's leading advocates for the horse racing industry, was primary author of the horsemen's sections of the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, passed in 2004. The Act allocates a percentage of revenue from casino slot machines to support various aspects of thoroughbred and harness racing in Pennsylvania.

In addition to a focus on equine law, Mr. DeBunda's diverse practice includes representation of corporate, health care and media clients, as well as significant private and family-owned companies and nonprofit organizations. His more than 40 years of legal and business experience includes high-level positions with media and electronics companies, as well as representation of cable television franchisees in Philadelphia and throughout the United States.
