Lewis Silkin has today announced the appointment of corporate and professional practices specialist Chris Hallinan as a partner in the firm's London office.

An expert in professional practices, Chris has extensive knowledge and understanding of LLP and partnership law, particularly in relation to governance and constitutional arrangements, M&A and regulatory issues – including those involving the SRA and with an international dimension.

Chris's experience includes working with firms across the legal, accounting and wider professional and financial services industries, including advising international law firms on structuring arrangements, governance reviews and bespoke litigation funding models, as well as professional services M&A in the UK, Europe and North America.

Chris has previously been named as an 'Associate to Watch' by Chambers & Partners, and named a 'Rising Star' by Legal 500. He is a member of the Association of Partnership Practitioners where he sits as a member of the 'Up and Coming Committee'.

Chris joins Lewis Silkin from Addleshaw Goddard. He becomes part of the firm's tier one (Legal 500) corporate practice group, led by Paul Rajput, and deepens its specialism in the professional services sector – with the firm being well known as 'the lawyer's lawyers', having advised more than half of the UK's top 30 firms.

Paul Rajput, Partner and head of the corporate practice group at Lewis Silkin, commented:
It's a real pleasure to welcome Chris to Lewis Silkin. Our corporate team continues to go from strength to strength, with the addition of new faces and skill sets across venture capital, start ups, regulatory and tax, alongside our broader M&A practice, and Chris joining us brings further expertise in the highly complex and specialised world of partnerships. He is already proven as a real leader in this space, and I've no doubt that his skill and passion will further elevate both our corporate and professional services client offering. We're very pleased to have him on board.

Chris Hallinan, Partner at Lewis Silkin, added:

Lewis Silkin is highly regarded as a leading firm in the professional services sector, while the corporate team likewise have an outstanding track record - not least in advising on some of the most significant deals in the creative industries.
The professional services sector continues to be dynamic, driven by consolidation, the emergence of new business models and technologies, and increasing activity and interest in external investment - particularly as firms seek to establish themselves in overseas territories and adapt to seize competitive advantage.
It's an exciting time to be joining the firm and I'm very much looking forward to applying my experience and skillset in advising professional services firms and knowledge of partnership and LLP law more widely for the benefit of our clients, and helping to build on the success and momentum that Paul and the wider corporate team have achieved in recent years.
