Law firm Partner Dr Tonio Fenech, will be moderating an online CPD
seminar event organized by STEP Malta entitled "The Settlor
may wish anything, but the Trustee must decide in the interests of
the beneficiaries" on the 17thNovember 2022.
The Webinar will address situations where a trustee's duty
to act for the benefit of the beneficiaries may be at odds with the
settlor's wishes over time. The settlor's wishes may have
been expressed on particular matters in the ordinary administration
of the trust, but can also be expressed in setting out the original
purpose of the trust.
The main speaker at the event will be renowned Jersey advocate
Ms. Katherine Neal, a partner at Ogier (Jersey) LLP, while Dr.
Fenech is also expected to discuss the Maltese legal issues
connected with the subject.
