Carey Olsen Guernsey Partner David Crosland has been named as one of three 'global elite thought leaders' for the offshore region in the 2019 Who's Who Legal Private Funds Guide.

Mr Crosland is regularly instructed on the launch, administration, restructuring and listing of closed and open-ended investment and has advised funds listed on the LSE, AIM, Euronext and TISE. He was described by the guide as 'very highly rated in the international marketplace' and as someone who 'comes highly recommended for his vast experience in establishing investment funds'.

Mr Crosland said his recognised was an honour. "It is also pleasing that so many of my colleagues have featured within the guide," he added. "It underlines the strength of our funds practice not only in the Channel Islands but also further afield."

He was one of five Guernsey Corporate Partners from Carey Olsen to be recognised as experts in the 2019 guide.

Ben Morgan, partner and head of Carey Olsen's corporate and finance group in Guernsey, is also highlighted within the guide's commentary. He is described as 'an excellent lawyer' and someone with a 'stellar investment fund practice'.

The other three partners to be recognised were Christopher Anderson, Andrew Boyce and Tom Carey.

Who's Who Legal identifies the foremost legal practitioners in business law based upon comprehensive, independent research. Nominees are selected based on independent survey work with general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide. The Private Funds Guide comprises fund formation specialists and regulatory experts from more than 100 law firms across 28 countries.

Thought leaders are individuals who received the highest number of nominations from peers, corporate counsel and other market sources, and have been identified by the research as being truly outstanding practitioners and leaders in their field.

Guernsey Practitioners from other law firms listed as experts include Wayne Atkinson and Paul Wilkes (both Collas Crill), Darren Bacon and Frances Watson (both Mourant Ozannes) and William Simpson (independent legal consultant).
