In connection with the recodification of Czech private law, this newsletter will focus on lease agreements regarding business premises.
New Rules
As of 1 January 2014 the only applicable act on the lease of business premises will be the new Civil Code (the special act on the lease of business premises applicable today will be excluded), which includes general provisions applicable to all lease agreements.
It should be noted that the new rules on the lease of business premises will apply only to the lease for business purposes (unlike today, rules on the lease of non-residential premises apply to any leases of premises for purposes other than residence).
