With the emergence of infrastructural growth throughout the
Middle East, the Gulf states are energetically vying to attract
tourism. Dubai is currently the 'go to' destination in the
Middle East with a collection of world class malls, restaurants and
hotels including the much touted Burj Al Arab, Atlantis Resort and
famed Japanese restaurant Zuma. To compete in this race to attract
more tourists Bahrain has invested billions in infrastructure and
to sweeten the deal they have slashed visa fees by 80%. The earlier
tourist visa fee was 25 Bahraini Dinars and has now been reduced to
only 5. This reduction in visa fees along with the Bahraini
governments efforts to increase tourism might just make this
country the new shining star of the Middle East.
