Training the Whistleblowers' Champion

Our one-to-one training is designed to equip Whistleblowers' Champions with the knowledge they need to fulfil their role and to give guidance and practical tips on handling tricky issues, including:

  • Preparing their terms of reference
  • Discharging their regulatory obligations
  • Managing whistleblowing disclosures, including how to undertake and manage an investigation
  • Preparing the annual report

Training for Senior Managers and key function holders

Designed to give senior managers an understanding of the legal and regulatory framework of the new regime and their rights and duties, how to manage the implications of the SIMR, and what the new rules mean to them personally, the firm and the City.

  • Navigating through the new conduct rules, in particular the regulatory guidance on the new rules and the personal implications for them of any breach of the rules
  • Proper use of performance management procedures and conducting appraisals to enable them to identify role-specific competence
  • The legal and regulatory framework of the new whistleblowing rules, their rights and duties, including how to identify and respond to wrongdoing, how to manage a whistleblowing disclosure, and their role in ensuring that any whistleblower is not victimised
  • Understanding the implications of the new rules on regulatory references
