The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) published its interim performance report for the Gaming Industry in Malta for the period January-June 2015. The report takes into account both land-based sectors, including casinos, gaming parlours, commercial bingo halls and national lotteries, and remote gaming sectors.

Between January and June 2015, the MGA issued a total of 43 new gaming licenses. By the end of 2015, there were 277 registered gaming operators, holding 474 licenses collectively. In addition, comparing the period under review to the corresponding period in 2014, 8% less licenses were terminated, while there was an increase of 3% in the number or suspended licenses – totalling to 22 and 8 respectively.

The industry performance report for the full year of 2015 will be published later on in May 2016, when the Annual Report for the financial year ending December 2015 is also published.
