Charities Aid Foundation launches the Young Trustees Guide

The CAF say that the guide aims to change the face of charity trustee boards given that only two per cent of charities have a young trustee serving.

Government encourages everyone to 'Remember A Charity' during national awareness week  

Minister for Civil Society Rob Wilson MP, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury Damian Hinds MP and Rob Cope, Director of Remember A Charity,send co-signed letters to solicitors across England, Scotland and Wales requesting them to encourage clients to leave a gift to charity when writing a will – known as 'legacy giving'.

Charity Commission sets out plans for  annual return 2016

The content of the annual return for 2016 will remain broadly the same as the content of the annual return for 2015 save for financial information required of charities with an income over £500,000 to reflect the changes needed as a result of the new SORP.

Consultation on charities accounts in Northern Ireland

The proposed regulations, contained within the consultation, will require registered charities to file their annual accounts with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, and will make provision for the preparation and scrutiny of charity accounts and annual reports. The consultation will also seek views on whether the income levels which determine how charities' accounts are scrutinised should be increased or remain the same.
