On June 30, 2014 ANAC (the Brazilian Civil Aviation Agency) opened Public Hearing nr. 13/2014 to discuss a revision of the current airport fees regulatory model as well as to establish rules for collection of these fees.

ANAC Resolution nr.180/2011, which currently regulates departure, landing, and parking fees is based on cross subsidies between Infraero's publicly owned airports with higher fees being charged on lucrative airports and lower fees in deficit airports. The privatization of the Brazilian major airports, however,  resulted in the need to review the current airport fees model.

The new model will not apply to privatized airports, that is, São Gonçalo do Amarante (RN), Guarulhos (SP), Viracopos (SP), Brasília (DF), Confins (MG) and Galeão (RJ).

ANAC will receive comments through 6pm on July 30, 2014 by means of the online form available at www.anac.gov.br. A live session is also scheduled to take place on July 23 at the ANAC head offices in Brasília.
