International law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has launched an updated version of its widely used guide to the legal, business and tax issues involved in sponsoring a private equity fund.

Known in the market as the private equity funds "cookbook", the guide is authored by senior members of Debevoise's Funds/Investment Management Group and provides an in-depth look at the key issues and considerations involved in fund formation.

First published nearly 20 years ago, the cookbook remains one of the most complete and practical resources in the market. The latest edition includes important updates that reflect changes stemming from rapid growth in the industry and increasing complexity in the structuring of funds.

The launch of the updated cookbook coincides with a period of remarkable growth, both for the private equity industry as well as Debevoise's Funds/Investment Management Group. The team had a record-breaking 2018 and has continued its strong performance into 2019, currently advising on more than 110 private funds targeting more than $150 billion in commitments.
