The SEC named Adam S. Aderton as the new co-chief of the Asset Management Unit's Enforcement Division. Mr. Aderton, who replaces Anthony Kelly, will share the position with Dabney O'Riordan.

Mr. Aderton started at the SEC as a staff attorney for the Enforcement Division in 2008 and became Assistant Director of the Asset Management Unit in 2013. According to the press release, Mr. Aderton was involved in several notable SEC enforcement actions, including against (i) two wealth management subsidiaries concerning failure to disclose conflicts of interest to retail clients, (ii) two advisory firms for failure to disclose a change in investment strategy by a closed-end fund they advised, (iii) individuals for misuse of client funds and (iv) an asset management company and its principal for misrepresentations to investors.
