During next week’s ABA Federal Procurement Institute, March 13-16, 2019 in Annapolis, MD, three Morrison & Foerster Government Contracts attorneys will be participating. Partner Damien Specht will serve as one of the conference co-chairs. He is also co-chair of the ABA Public Contract Law Section Mergers and Acquisitions Committee and the ABA Small Business & Other Socioeconomic Programs Committee.

On Thursday, March 14, at 8:30AM, Kevin Mullen, co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracts Group, will moderate the panel “The Impact of War on Claims Litigation: Two Decades of Case Developments.” The panelists will examine how nearly two decades of contingency war operations has impacted the Court of Federal Claims and Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals case precedent, and analyze the legal and practical implications of these court and board decisions for future contractor claims.

Associate Sandeep Nandivada will be moderating a panel on the same day at 4PM, titled “Data Analytics/Artificial Intelligence—How These Tools Relate to a Government Contract Attorney's Practice.” This panel will provide an overview of how data analytics, machine learning, and AI can assist lawyers and legal professionals in their practice, using public sector-focused case studies to explore how emerging technologies can assist with investigations, litigation and compliance.
