On August 29, 2018 SEC Chairman Jay Clayton addressed key capital formation initiatives at the SEC. Chairman Clayton emphasized helping small businesses access capital to grow, create new jobs, and provide investors expanded investment opportunities. Chairman Clayton outlined the efforts the SEC has undertaken over the last sixteen months that are intended to foster capital formation including scaled disclosure framework for smaller companies, disclosure modernization and simplification, and guidance helpful to the IPO process.
