On August 17, 2018, the SEC voted to adopt amendments to certain disclosure requirements in order to simply and get rid of outdated requirements. The amendments eliminate various requirements that are redundant to or overlapping with the requirements of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, International Financial Reporting Standards, or other SEC requirements. The amendments primarily apply to required disclosures made by public reporting companies. The amendments are part of the SEC's implementation of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act which requires the SEC to eliminate unnecessary and overlapping provisions of Regulation S-K.
