Ogletree Deakins' International Practice Group is pleased to announce the inaugural issue of its international newsletter, the International Employment Update. Roger James, a partner in Ogletree Deakins' London office, spearheaded this important and timely project, which is aimed at human resources professionals and in-house employment counsel operating on an international basis.

The International Employment Update, which will be published twice yearly, includes 59 articles covering labor and employment news and developments from 50 countries. The purpose of these updates is to keep employers abreast of key changes to employment laws and other significant developments of interest in the countries in which they have employees.

The debut issue includes an update on President Macron's progress reforming French labor law, a new union for the technology sector in India, a number of countries' legislative updates on data collection and telecommuting to keep up with developments in technology, and much more. The newsletter also includes two feature articles on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)—which is arguably the biggest current challenge for multinational employers as they audit and adjust their practices in advance of the GDPR's implementation across the European Union on May 25, 2018.

We hope you will find the International Employment Update to be a go-to source of information for international business needs. Keep abreast of all the latest developments in international labor and employment law news on Ogletree Deakins' International blog.
