The CFTC interim final rule that replaces the lettering system used in its list of defined terms (CFTC Rule 1.3) with an alphabetical list was published in the Federal Register. The changes were made in order to make the definitions and corresponding cross-references easier to navigate. In addition, the CFTC made conforming amendments to other CFTC regulations that reference Rule 1.3.

The interim final rule became effective on February 23, 2018. The CFTC is soliciting comments from interested parties, which must be submitted by March 26, 2018.
